Kids' Menus
Our kids’ menus, available at most onboard dining venues, feature foods that are delicious enough — and fun enough — to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. We’ve got all the familiar options they love at home, like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, peanut butter and jam sandwiches and — yes mum — fresh fruit and veggies. They should save room for dessert, though, because with sweet stuff like banana splits and chocolate brownies, your young’uns are going to be pretty excited. There’s even 24-hour pizza and ice cream… but these are subject to bed-time, of course.
Lido Restaurant
Featuring a variety of casual dining options like Chef's Choice, Salad Bar, Carnival Deli and more, the Lido Restaurant has something — or more likely, at least a few ‘somethings’ — to satisfy your craving. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and food options for everyone, you can enjoy your personal favourites, while dining in the company of family and friends. Mix in some grilled chicken, fresh tuna or stick to the basics with this quick and healthy option.
Meal Time: Lunch
Seaday Brunch
Forget what “they” say — the most important meal of the day is brunch. Slumberers can sleep in and still enjoy breakfast favourites, while early-risers get a head-start on lunch. And Seaday Brunch brings everybody’s favourite mid-morning meal to your Carnival cruise, and does it right. You’ll enjoy special french toast, loaded mac-n-cheese… and yes, more ways to cook eggs than we even thought was possible. Chow down and fuel up — you’ve got lots of exploring to do, across the ship, for the rest of the day.

There’s nothing sweeter than a visit to Sweet Spot for our specially-made marble chocolate cheesecake, lemon cream pies, cherry crumble squares and more. There’s always something for everyone, including healthier options like fresh fruit medleys. Save room for dessert — or skip the meal altogether — and make sure you satisfy your sweet tooth with this mix of desserts that really hit the spot.
Meal Time: Snacks
Swirls
Got room for dessert? Sure you do! Swirls ice cream lets you enjoy the sweeter side of brain freeze with a treat that’ll have you smiling from ear to ear. Choose from chocolate, vanilla or strawberry… or make your own mix swirled as high as you can balance it. Open on Lido deck 24/7, our soft-serve ice cream and frozen yoghurt is a great way to beat the heat all day, or the perfect night-time treat after a long evening of fun.

Bars and Lounges
Sports Bar
Just because you’re on vacation doesn't mean you should miss the action back home! Whether you’re here to root, root, root for your home team or you just want to check in on the scores, you’ll love the energy-filled atmosphere of the sports bar. Order your go-to drink and just kick back as you watch your favorite sports come to life on our big flat-screen TVs.
Piano Bar
Pull up a seat, order your favorite cocktail, and let your friendly piano player know the songs you'd like to hear. Then join the sing-along for a hand-clapping, foot-tapping, finger-snapping good time. Don't feel like flexing your vocal cords? No worries. Shy songbirds are welcome here, too. And since it's open from early evening to late at night, it's the perfect spot for a before-dinner drink or singing 'til the wee hours of the evening.
Nightclub
Get up and get down at the most happenin’ club in the Caribbean. Whether you’re doing the robot or the worm or just swaying to the music, you’ll want to dance ‘til the sun rises. Or at least ‘til last call. (Some people are born with all the right moves, but the rest of us need a little instruction to smooth the sharp edges off of ours. That’s why you’ll find a host of free dance classes that sail along with you!)
Pools and Spas
Cloud 9 Spa
Sometimes you just need to get away… from all that vacation. Escape to a world designed, from the ground up, for relaxation. Cloud 9 Spa staff are masters trained in the craft of simply helping you chill. What’s their secret? Massages, facials, body wraps, thermal suites
Pools
POOL DAY! Whether today's the day for a bit of a dip, a dash of splash or even some swimming — or just a serious poolside lounging session — your Carnival cruise has just the pool for you. In fact, pools are so important to a great cruise.
Deck Parties
Mega Deck Party
If a deck party has the power to bring together friendly rivals BlueIguana and RedFrog, you can imagine what the Mega Deck Party can do for vacationers like you! Show up to the open-air Lido Deck pool area ready to have a good time under the stars. The ship’s DJ, cruise director and entertainment staff will be on-hand to get things going… and keep everyone moving. And when we say “everyone,” that means guests of all ages are welcome at this party! Make the most of your evening with games, giveaways, line dances — and more — well into the night.
Sail Away Party
There are two kinds of people — land people and sea people. Unless they were born on a pirate ship or something, pretty much everybody starts out as a land person. And look, there’s nothing wrong with that. But there’s a process for becoming a sea person, and the Caribbean Sailaway Party on your first Carnival cruise is where the transformation occurs. It’s actually pretty easy: get there and… you’re in the club and ready to celebrate! (Then, on your second Carnival cruise — and let’s be honest, you’ll be back — strap on your sea legs, find a cruise newbie and join them in a toast to the great times to come.)
Sports & Fitness
Your ship has a gym. In other words, there’s no excuse for leaving your fitness routine back on land. That’s great news, however, for your body, which will definitely benefit from all the extra energy that vacationing pumps directly into you.
There's even a basketball court on Deck 12. It's completely a different journey to hoop: the view and the sea breeze you take in as you drive your way past defenders to put the rock in the bucket.
Internet
Is vacation a time for disconnecting? Yes! But isn’t it a great time to stay connected and share the good times you’re having with everyone back home? Also yes! That’s why your Carnival cruise gives you options for just how in-touch you want to stay. Looking to share every moment as it happens, hashtag it up and get all the Likes? Try the WiFi onboard at an additional cost. It lets you do the social thing and connect your phone, tablet or laptop wherever you are on the ship.
Kids Club
Camp Ocean - Deck 10
For kids aged 2-11, the Camp Ocean will keep your little ones busy and active with all the fun themed activities and entertainment. All program are supervised by well-trained staff.
The littlest little ones — ages 2 to 5 —join the Penguin colony and engage in activities like Musical Icebergs and Ocean Bingo… even learning a thing or two about buoyancy!
The little-biggers, 6 to 8, are the way-cool Stingrays, who might be found enjoying Pirate Game Night, making sea salt art or even designing their own aquarium.
The big fish are the Sharks — ages 9 to 11 — who really sink their teeth into playing Marine Life Trivia, creating a giant ocean mural, and scoring big with games and sports competitions.
Circle "C" - Deck 4
It’s the onboard spot where teens ages 12 to 14 go to hang out, meet new friends, and enjoy some pretty awesome activities. Like what? Think dance parties, games, outdoor movies and more, some in the exclusive Circle “C” lounge and others around the ship. These are all supervised by the friendly and fun-loving counselors who make sure teens have the best vacation ever.
Club O2 - Deck 5
Hang out doing stuff like watching movies, listening to music from this decade, playing sports and video games, joining karaoke jam sessions… maybe even attending Carnival’s version of prom, all with other high schoolers ages 15 to 17.
Library
With wall-to-wall activities, most people wouldn’t think of their cruise vacation as a great time to read a book, but you’ll find the bibliophilic faithful stretched out on deck chairs, enjoying the sun, sea breeze… and a page-turner. Forgot to bring a book? E-reader battery just died? Every Carnival ship features an onboard library stocked with the good stuff. For the silent types, it’s a great place to read, but if the roar of the ocean is more your soundtrack, the library is a great place to find a good read to borrow and devour, al fresco.
Mini Golf
Ah, imagine a perfect day out on the links, the golfer's zen of the ball, the hole and nothing in between but well-manicured fairway... plus one cactus, a treasure chest... and wait, is that a windmill in the way? Just who designed this course anyway? Whoever it was, they had one thing in mind — maximum fun for mini-golfers, big and small!
Casino
Guests 18 years or older can join and earn points while playing at our table games and slots. The more points you earn, the more benefits you’ll get — like free drinks while you play and private invitations to Carnival Premier Cruises.
To make sure you’re making the most of your play, keep your Sail & Sign® card inserted when playing slots, or present your card to the dealer when playing at a table. Once aboard, see your Casino Host for more details.
Stage Shows
The stage shows are designed to both razzle and dazzle. Illusionists and magicians will thrill and confound you with their mysterious feats. With shows featuring talented singers, musicians and dancers performing crowd-thrilling numbers in extravagant costumes with awesome sets and scenery, it’s like catching one of the best shows on land. All performances are designed to ensure that every night feels like opening night. And best of all, since shows are included in your fare, it’s like having top-dollar tickets to the hottest show in town… absolutely free
Comedy Club
Comedy clubs on land… well, it’s kinda funny. Nobody likes paying cover charges, and you know that two-drink minimum? They’ve gotta be joking! You won’t find either of these at The Punchliner Comedy Club aboard your Carnival cruise. Up on stage you will find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening. You can count on these comedians to not hold back either. Since some of them get up and say exactly what’s on their mind, we also schedule family-friendly performances… so the only red faces in the audience are from laughing a little too hard.
Video Arcade
If you love to play video games, you’re in luck. Our video arcade boasts a huge array of games, and is open to players of all ages, all night and all day. So get some tokens from the vending machine and let the fun times begin. Challenge your friends to a game, or just see if you can beat the top score. After all, with the video arcade open 24 hours and an entire cruise ahead of you, you have plenty of time to try.
Water Activites
Building on Carnival’s reputation for jaw-dropping waterslides, Carnival Splendor will feature an adrenaline-packed green and gold WaterWorks packed with two slides that tower 50 metres above the waterline.
Ship info
It’s hard to tell which onboard space best represents Carnival Splendor — they all seem to hint at the amazing time you’re going to have. El Morocco Lounge hosts comedy shows, musical performances, karaoke and more… and wears its 1930s namesake clearly on its nameplate. The words “Royal Flush Casino” incite visions of winning, while our onboard jazz club — The Cool — simply says it all without saying a word. And the Pinnacle Steakhouse can be found not only at the height of elegant dining, but at the actual apex of the ship.
If you like your fun to flow, there are options aplenty. If you list “splishing” and “splashing” among your favorite things to do, there’s the Splash Park. Those into sitting and sliding are invited to try the signature Carnival Twister Waterslide. How about floating or swimming around? Carnival Splendor has pools all over the place, including the midship pool featuring a retractable roof that makes any day a pool day. So whether you splish or splash, you’ll find hydro-excitement galore.
If getting up and making the crowd go wild with your dance moves is your idea of a good time, Lip Sync Battle: Carnival is our idea of a great idea. Or if relaxation is more your thing, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat is more your place. Or if you’re looking to take relaxation to the extreme, direct your attention to the Cloud 9 Spa, featuring more (and better) ways to kick back than just about anywhere else, on land or at sea. You haven’t lived until you’ve relaxed in a Thalassotherapy pool, or chilled — so to speak — in a dry heat chamber.

"Carnival Splendor - Mexican Riviera Cruise April 2012"
So - it has been 8 months since we cruised but out of interest when looking for a review to see what others thought of this cruise and I didn't see one I thought it best to add one as a starting point for people considering this cruise. Firstly though I will start with the fact that this was our first cruise, so we really don't have anything to compare it to. We are a well travelled, fairly easy going family of 4 and I cruised with my husband and Miss 10 and Miss 6. We are from Australia and the cruise departed from Longbeach, California and returned there after cruising for 7 nights down to 2 stops at Cabo San Luca and 1 day in Peurto Vallarta. We were totally amazed at the whole cruising experience - we loved loved loved it and could NOT fault a single thing about the cruise. The staff we ever so helpful, there was always something to do, the children were always well entertained with the various kids clubs on board. We cruised with 6 other families and I think this added to our fun but there are certainly plenty more friendly people to meet and spend your time with. The cruising staff could never do enough for you but in saying that we were pretty self sufficient and didn't really have any issues that needed addressing. Basically they left you alone, however if you had an issue they would bend over backwards to address it. The variety of the different types of meals, entertainment, music etc would/should be enough to satisfy even the fussiest of people. Cruising is what you make it people!! We booked an oceanview cabin, a queensize bed for us and Miss 10 slept on the the bunk that was pulled down from the ceiling and set up each night while we were at dinner and Miss 6 slept on the sofa by day / single bed by night - all beds were extremely comfortable. Each night while we were at dinner (we had the 6pm sitting) we would return to our rooms to find fresh shower and pool towels and all the beds prepared and turned down, with chocolates and towel animals making a nice touch - it was always exciting to return from dinner to find what surprise animal awaited us! The program left on our bed detailed what events were on the next day so that was always really helpful as we all picked out things we wanted to go and see - and there was always so much to do!! Comedians, Vegas style shows, singers, hypnotists, bingo, shopping etc etc there was always something happening in the main theatre. With the children that our other friends had ranged in ages from 2 to 17 so they were in a variety of different kids clubs depending on their ages and they all had a ball - they certainly didn't live there but they picked out the things happening there that they didn't want to miss out on. From memory the kids club hours were 9am - 10pm but when you were at sea days you needed to collect them during lunch and dinner times. The pools and spas were amazing and for those wanting to escape children there was an adults only area on the ship - which I thought was quite considerate of Carnival. The food was quite impressive - we were allocated to the black pearl dining room and we dined at the 6pm sitting. We never stressed about running 10 minutes late because we knew our table would always be there for us - our dinner hosts were AMAZING and really took the time to get to know our names and our children's (3 of the families all dined together, 6 adults, 1 toddler on 1 table and 7 children on the other and the staff looked after the children for us. We never once had a single issue with either meal or drinks, the food was always of high quality. Once of our families were dairy free and this didn't cause the staff a problem when meals were ordered without the cheese topping or no creamy dressings etc, one person in our party was vegetarian and there really was options for everybody. We tended to buffet for breakfast and lunch most days and basically it depended on where the lines were shortest as to where we ate. There were always healthy options and the food was always fresh and hot - there were themed days, i remember one being chocolate extravaganza and insanely tall chocolate fountains, cheesecakes, biscuits all sorts of things. The ship did have 2 formal dining nights, we didn't pack any formal attire as we had been holidaying for 3 weeks in the states previously and when sorting and resorting the suitcases prior to departure it didn't make the cut - but do consider them as a lot of people do go - on the upside most buffets are empty so you can eat almost anywhere with no waiting. 2 other things - a soda card. Whilst water and lemonade were free from the buffet areas all other soft drinks needed to be paid for. you can purchase a soda card which entitles the holder to get a soda or soft drink from any bar on the ship. The card cost around $40 and all in all we got 8 soft drinks with it, so we still didnt really get value for money but more for the convenience of the children being able to get a drink if we were not with them as they were unable to charge to our room. Secondly, the shore excursions. There are so many that you can book directly with the cruise itself, either online through carnivals website or whilst onboard the actual cruises (some may fill up or even be sold out though, if you leave it until you are onboard). Although they may be more expensive than the price you could negotiate yourself with the local carriers when you get into Port you are always guaranteed that if you have booked through Carnival then they will not leave you behind - and trust me this happens! If you are not back on the ship then it will leave without you and this is something you should take very seriously - check out youtube you will see the people running along the port, alongside the boat sailing off without them. Honestly it depends on how well you speak the local language and how well you know the local area and how much money you wanted to save. Mexico was brilliant, the weather was perfect it certainly didn't cost anything to catch a tender ashore and suss out what was happening - even buying something from the local market and participating in the local culture etc. We loved loved loved Carnival. To finish - it was an amazing cruise, definitely value for money. it worked out to be around $80 per person per day on the ship which we thought was fantastic value. We were never bored, we had nothing to complain about and are so looking forward to booking another carnival cruise to a different location.

"Awesome trip"
This cruise was value for money. It was very exciting and a great cruise to do if you are just looking for a taste of cruising. It was for 4 nights do was just long enough for first time. So many choices of restaurants to eat at. The entertainment at night was superb and so many shows to choose from. Dance lessons are fun to do. My husband love the casino and met some vey nice people in there. The day excursions were very good and if you didn't want to do the you could just get off the boat and look around. We went on our own so therefore it was easier for us to meet and make friends. The jogging track in the top of the boat was great we used it every day to exercise before we ate all the beautiful food that was on offer for us..there were approx 3000 people on the boat by it didn't seem crowded and didn't take long to get loaded on on th first day or getting off at the end. The staff were very helpful and very lead ant to deal with. The cabin service was excellent. We were well looked after.

"Mexico cruise-best way to end your USA holiday"
thi scruise was fantastic, the food was to die for. My daughter is a celiaac and the cooked special made to order meals for her. She never felt so special or ever had so much choice in what she would like to eat. The service was fantastic and they were sensational with the kids. The kids had ample entertainment with water slides and putt pout golf and a pool. our short tours covered historical parts of Mexico then we visited some fantatic beaches and resorts. The shopping on the cruise was great, with special offerers everyday. The chocolate spectalour was out of this world. Everything chocolate you could ask for and more.I have never seen a ship so clean, the rooms were spotless and new. the kids loved coming into the room each night and see what animal was made out of towels left in the room by the steward. Around the pool was relaxing with entertainment and wonderful music being okayed it really put you in the holiday mood, especially with the cocktails being delivered to you. The staff are very caring , unfirtuantley while we were on the cruise my mother in law passed away unexpectedly . They offered to organize flights for my husband and also allowed us to use the phone free of charge to call home everyday to find out what is happening. I have hollidayed lot around the world but this cruise was special. My kids want to go again. Out of our whole USA trip they rated this the best! Better than Disneyland

Frequently asked questions
Cruising is such a great value holiday as your fare includes accommodations, all main meals onboard ship, onboard daytime activities, and night-time entertainment including live stage shows. One reason cruising is good value is because you'll know what most of your holiday will cost before you go. Generally your only extra onboard expenses could be your beverages (though these are sometimes included on luxury ships), optional shore excursions, personal services such as spa treatments, and any purchases at the gift and duty free shops.
All your main meals are included on a cruise. Typically for breakfast, lunch and dinner there is an a la carte option (order from a menu) or a buffet option. There is so much choice available, and the food is excellent. However, your cruise doesn't always just include these 3 main meals. You can in fact eat non-stop for 24 hours a day if you like.
Most cruise lines also offer specialty dining as an alternative option to the main restaurants. There is typically a small cover charge for this. However, the food is well worth it, and the specialty restaurants are normally smaller and more intimate than the main restaurants so they make for a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
The entertainment on board comes in many different styles and formats but is always included in the cruise fare. In the evening there are shows in the main show lounge (except small ship cruising). Typically there are two sessions a night so, depending on your dinner time, you can always catch the show. The style of these shows changes daily. Some nights it will include all of the ship’s entertainment crew with a Las Vegas style production. Other nights there may be a guest entertainer or comedian. There is something for everyone.
The entertainment doesn't stop with the nightly performances. Each night the ship provides a newsletter detailing all the activities that will take place the following day. These activities may include dance classes, arts and crafts, table tennis, live music, tournaments, trivia quizzes, recent release movies, and other deck games and deck parties. The great thing about a cruise is that you can do as much or as little as you like. If your idea of a holiday is sitting back with a good book, you can do that. If you like to be entertained there is no shortage of entertainment.
One of the main reasons for a cruise making such a great family holiday is the “kids club” facilities offered on board, and they are all included in your cruise fare. Typically the kids clubs are broken into 3 different age groups - 3 to 6 years, 7 to 12 years, and 13 – 17 years. In these dedicated children’s facilities they are looked after by trained staff and the facilities are open from 9am – 10pm. Parents can check their children into the “kids club” whenever it suits them. Children love these facilities as it is “their space” aboard the ship.
NB Each cruise line has limited space on board the ship for children as the kids club facilities can cater for a limited number of children, and any child booked onto a cruise has access to the kids club. If you are planning on taking a cruise during the school holidays then you need to book early as the children's space will sell out. Also, while most cruise lines have kids club facilities there are some exceptions (not common) so you should check this at time of booking.
The chances are you will not get seasick. On a cruise most people do not suffer from motion sickness. However, if you are going to get seasick then it is likely to happen in the first 24 hours. If you limit the amount of alcohol you consume and activities you do in the first 24 hours you can reduce the chance of this happening. Another thing you can do is select a midship cabin on a lower deck. A cabin in the middle of the ship (midship) will experience the least amount of movement.
There are a number of other precautions/medications you can take, and these can be purchased before you travel at a pharmacy or health shop. Otherwise you can buy them on board.
The best thing you can do if you feel seasick is visit the ship’s doctor. They can give you an injection that will give you relief from your seasickness within 30 minutes. You have planned and saved for your holiday, don't ruin it by feeling sick. Visit the doctor for the injection and get it treated straight away. If you have travel insurance then you can claim this back.
IMPORTANT: A visit to the doctor on board will cost you money so we strongly recommend you get travel insurance before you depart on your holiday.

Frequently Asked Questions
Shore excursions are pre-organised tours & sightseeing options that you purchase on board for when your ship is in a port of call. Every ship has a “Shore Ex” desk with qualified staff who can advise you of different excursions available, what’s best to do and generally help you with information on the particular region your ship is visiting.
Shore excursions can be booked on board your ship however some cruise lines allow you to pre-book and pay for excursions online. If there is a tour you really want to do then we recommend you pre-book it as popular tours do sell out.
Shore excursions are not compulsory, you are free to go ashore and return to the ship as many times as you like.
When you go ashore it is important to note:
You must take your cruise I.D. card (ticket) as proof for re-embarking.
The city or town you are visiting may not be close to the port where the ship is docked, cruise lines normally organise shuttle buses (at a minimal charge) throughout the day to and from the city centre.
You must return to the ship at the stipulated time as the ship WILL NOT wait for late passengers.
Tour costs vary depending on the activity, itinerary and inclusions. There is always a wide variety on offer for all age groups and abilities that can start from as little as $25.
Sometimes you can book your tour, when you arrive at your port, direct from the operator at a much cheaper price. However, this comes with a buyer beware warning. The operators used by the cruise line are trusted professionals so you will not be ripped off. Also, if something goes wrong on your tour, the cruise line knows where you are and will take the necessary steps to pick you up if your vehicle has broken down. In extreme cases they will even hold the ship's departure for you if you are late returning from a tour booked through the ship. They will not wait if you go direct through the operator, as they will not know where you are.
Unlike airlines, there are no luggage restrictions on a cruise. However you need to consider that you need to store it in your cabin for your holiday. There is plenty of storage space in your cabin but if you are travelling in a quad cabin you may want to impose your own restrictions.
NB It is important to remember that airlines have different luggage restrictions, so if you are flying either pre or post cruise then you may want to keep within their allowances.
Cruise lines around the world do not all operate using the same onboard currency. The currency varies from cruise line to cruise line with the most common currency being US dollars. P&O Cruises Australia, Carnival Spirit and the Sun and Dawn Princess all use Australian dollars as their onboard currency.
Cruising is a cashless society which means when you purchase anything on board you do not pay for it in cash. When you board the ship it is like checking into a hotel, you can either give a credit card imprint or the cruise line will take a cash deposit of approximately $300. You are then given a “cruise card”. Your cruise card is your door key (on most ships), has your dinner table number on it (for traditional dining), and it is used for making any purchases aboard.
When you make a purchase with your cruise card, it is swiped and a receipt is printed that you will need to sign. The cost of the purchase is then added to your onboard account which you settle at the end of your cruise.
Many cruises on our websites come with onboard credits. This could be from a special promotion that is being run by the cruise line or because of the relationship we have with the cruise lines that allows us to select certain cruises to receive onboard credit. The amount of onboard credit does normally depend on the length of the cruise.
If your reservation receives onboard credit we will confirm this with you in writing and then your onboard account will automatically be in credit for the amount we have confirmed to you. This credit can be used towards any onboard expenditure that is charged back to your cabin. It is important to note that if you do not spend all of your onboard credit it will not be refunded to you in cash so it is best you spend it all while on board.
Tipping/gratuities are a big issue for a lot of Australasian cruise passengers as it is not our custom to reward good service in this way. What cruise passengers need to consider is that outside of Australasia, the remuneration for personnel in the service industry is quite low. Hence, to keep up a high standard, employees have the incentive of earning additional income via the tips they receive. At the end of the day, how much you tip is up to you.
The most common way cruise lines suggest tipping, is that they add a suggested amount to your daily onboard account. You can choose to keep that on your account or you can ask the purser to remove it. This suggested amount is divided out amongst your cabin steward, your dinner waiter, your assistant waiter, your wine steward, and maitre d’.
Some cruise lines ask passengers to wait until the end of the cruise and they discreetly leave an envelope in your cabin in which to place the appropriate amount. Some cruise lines state that the fare you have paid includes gratuities. Some cruise lines ask that you pre-pay the gratuities with your cruise fare prior to your holiday departure.
Again, the amount you tip is up to you (unless it is prepaid) and it isn't intended to have a negative impact on your holiday. Do what feels most comfortable to you.
The rules surrounding where you can smoke on board a cruise ship vary from cruise line to cruise line. However, none have taken steps to ban smoking completely. Most only allow smoking in designated areas on the open decks. Many have banned smoking on cabin balconies as this poses a fire risk.
Many cruise lines have rules restricting you from taking your own alcohol on board your cruise ship. If you have pre purchased duty free alcohol the ship will take it off you when you board and store it away for you. This alcohol will be delivered to your cabin the night before you disembark. The same applies if you purchase it when you are in port. Any purchases made on board will also be delivered the night before you disembark.
However, Princess Cruises will allow you to bring a bottle of wine aboard which you can drink at dinner or in your cabin.
These restrictions were put in place to create a safer environment on board your cruise ship, where people drink within a controlled drinking environment.
