TYPICAL ITINERARY

Day 1: Fly to Copenhage from Australia(Sydney, Melbourne or Perth)

Day 2: Copenhagen
Arrive to Copenhagen and make your own way to your centrally located hotel. We recommend taking the metro. All the trains go in the same direction from the airport (M2 to Vanløse Station), so you do not have to worry about getting on the wrong train. Tonight, your Webjet tour escort will meet you in the hotel lobby to welcome you to Denmark.

Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, sits on the coastal islands of Zealand and Amager. It’s linked to Malmo in southern Sweden by the Öresund Bridge. Indre By, the city’s historic center, contains Frederiksstaden, an 18th-century rococo district, home to the royal family’s Amalienborg Palace. Nearby is Christiansborg Palace and the Renaissance-era Rosenborg Castle, surrounded by gardens and home to the crown jewels.

Day 3: Copenhagen – cruise-icon – Baltics Cruise (B,D)

This morning is at leisure to explore this great city. Why not explore the city’s centre which has the Christiansborg parliament building and the Renaissance Rosenborg Castle that has a museum of royal artifacts and a popular garden. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred by private coach to the port to board your 7 night MSC Baltics Cruise.

Day 4: At Sea (B,L,D)
Enjoy the day at sea on your deluxe ship as it makes its way towards the beautiful Swedish coast.

Day 5: Stockholm (B,L,D)
Without a doubt Stockholm is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and a vacation in Sweden with an MSC cruise will prove it. Built on no fewer than fourteen islands, where the fresh water of Lake Mälaren meets the brackish Baltic Sea, clean air and open space are in plentiful supply here. Today will give you the opportunity to appreciate its port front, reach the Baltic Sea and experience the atmospheres of the broad boulevards lined with elegant buildings. Watch as the houses reflect in the deep blue water, and rows of painted wooden houseboats bob gently alongside the cobbled waterfront.

Day 6: Tallinn (B,L,D)
Tallinn, Estonia’s compact, buzzing capital, with its enchanting heart surrounded by medieval walls, has been shaped by nearly a millennium of outside influence. While here, explore the heart of Tallinn, its Old Town, still largely enclosed by the city’s medieval walls. At its centre is the Raekoja plats, the historic marketplace, above which looms Toompea, the hilltop stronghold of the German knights who controlled the city during the Middle Ages. Raekoja plats, the cobbled market square at the heart of the Old Town, is as old as the city itself. On its southern side stands the fifteenth-century Town Hall (Raekoda), boasting elegant Gothic arches at ground level, and a delicate steeple at its northern end.

Day 7: St Petersburg (B,L,D)
Welcome to one of the great cities of the world, St Petersburg, Russia! A sophisticated capital of the tsarist Empire, the cradle of the Communist Revolution of 1917, and a symbol of Russian stoicism due to the city’s heroic endurance of a three-year Nazi siege during World War II, present-day St Petersburg has eased into modernity without sacrificing any of its old-world magnificence and charm, with shopping malls sitting alongside opulent palaces. You’ll find a great city when you step ashore from your MSC cruise ship, maybe the most beautiful in the whole of Russia.

Day 8: At Sea (B,L,D)
Enjoy the day at sea on your deluxe ship as it makes its way from the coast of Russia to Germany.

Day 9: Kiel (B,L,D)
Arrival this morning in Kiel, Germany. Kiel became the Imperial military port of Germany in 1871 and, when its canal was opened to connect the Baltic and the North Seas in 1895, the town began to control the largest artificial waterway in the world. A spacious promenade along the pier will give you the chance to admire a variety of vessels of all sorts, amongst which the dinghies of the sailing school and, from the wet dock in front, the best view one can get of Kiel. 6 km south-west of the centre, in Molfsee, where we find theSchleswig-Holsteinisches Freilichtmuseum. This open air museum shows about seventy traditional buildings taken from the Lande and assembled in miniature villages: the colonial houses still maintain the original furniture – outstanding beds sleeping the entire family in order to keep warm in the freezing winters.

Day 10: Copenhagen – Oslo (B)
Today, after disembarking from the ship, you will be met at the port by your Webjet tour escort and board your private coach for a tour of Copenhagen. We begin with a visit to the Christiansborg Palace, located on the tiny island of Slotsholmen. It contains the Danish Parliament Folketinget, the Supreme Court, and the Ministry of State. Parts of the palace are used by the Royal Family for various functions and events. The Royal Reception Rooms include The Tower Room and The Oval Throne Room where foreign ambassadors to Denmark are received by the Queen (Please note: The throne room is still actively used and access is subject to royal reception schedules).

Continue on to the Nyhavn or Canal District. Lined by brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. The canal also harbours many historical wooden ships. View The Little Mermaid statue, based on the fairy tale of the same name by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, the small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and has been a major tourist attraction since 1913. Enjoy some free time, before being transferred to the ferry terminal to board your overnight ferry to the Norwegian capital, Oslo.

Day 11: Oslo (B)
This morning, wake up in the port of Oslo! After enjoying breakfast on your ship, disembark. Your tour escort will assist you with a short coach transfer to your hotel. On arrival, check-in to the hotel where the rest of the day is free to explore Oslo at your own pace.

Oslo is known for its green spaces and museums. Many of these are on the Bygdøy Peninsula, including the waterside Norwegian Maritime Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, with Viking ships from the 9th century.

Day 12: Oslo – Hamar – Lillehammer – Stryn (B)
After breakfast we begin our journey North, making our way to the Norwegian fjordic coast. Enroute, we visit the town of Hamar where a good portion of the 1994 Winter Olympic events were held. We make a short stop to view the impressive ice rink before continuing on to Lillehammer. The Lillehammer region has a special place in the hearts of many sports fans, thanks to the Winter Olympics in 1994 – one of the largest and most successful sporting events in modern Norwegian history. Here, your tour escort will take you around the town to learn about Lillehammer’s part in Norway’s history, including in-depth explanations on the Winter Olympics and the many events which were held here.  After, we continue into the fjords of Norway, our stop for the next two nights.

Day 13: Stryn – Geiranger – Stryn (B)
Today, enjoy a full day free day to marvel at the beauty of Geiranger Fjord. You would have to be exceptionally blasé if you failed to be impressed by this astounding creation of Mother Nature, emphasised by the will of man to maintain a foothold on the steep mountain sides and glean a living here. Impressive waterfalls cast cascades of thundering water from almost vertical mountain sides among them the famous falls, De syv søstrene (“the Seven Sisters”), Friaren (“the Suitor”) and Brudesløret (“the Bridal Veil”), and tease the cliffs with feather?light sheer veils of mist whose mission is to create a never?ending display of changing rainbows to fill you with delight and wonder.

Day 14: Stryn – Kanestraum – Trondheim (B)
This morning, , we leave Geiranger and begin continue our journey north. Today will see board fjord ferries and make the awe-inspiring trip between town’s lining to fjord in between Geiranger and Kanestraum. It allows for spectacular on-water views of the steep cliffs and mountain scenery of the area. We board our last ferry between Kanestraum and Halsanaustan before arriving into the city of Trondheim.

Trondheim has many names. It’s a city of students, technology, culture, cycling and food. The 30,000 students, many of whom attend the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, leave their mark on the city and contribute to a high level of innovation and a vibrant cultural life.

Day 15: Trondheim – Sandnessjoen (B)
After breakfast, we leave Trondhiem behind and make our way to Sandnessjoen. The Seven Sisters mountain range is Sandessjøen’s primary claim to fame. Sandnessjøen could not wish for a more perfect location. To the west, the Dønnamannen Mountain, 858 m above sea level, towers above the islands. To the east, the modern design of the elegant Helgeland Bridge impresses visitors. Today, the municipality has 7,500 inhabitants and a variety of industries and occupations such as fishing, agriculture, industry, trade and administration. Bustling ferry traffic has made the place a hive of activity.

Day 16: Sandnessjoen – Bognes – Skarberget – Narvik (B)
Today is an exciting day, to marks the first day we cross the Arctic Circle on our way to Narvik! From here, we cross into Northern Norway.  In the old days, large parts of Northern Norway was inaccessible, but today there is an extensive network of both roads and small airports with regular flights between many of the small towns and villages.

The city of Narvik is surrounded by majestic mountains and is perfect for both mountaineering and skiing. Narvik’s ski resort Narvikfjellet offers some of the best extreme and alpine skiing in Norway. During World War II, the port of Narvik proved to be strategically valuable for both sides. This dramatic part of the town’s modern history is still important to the region and its inhabitants.

Day 17: Narvik – Tromso (B)
After breakfast, we make the short trip to Norway’s most populous northern city of Tromso. Tromso lies far north of the Arctic Circle. A vibrant university town, it has a lively student scene with concerts and shows, and sports an international film festival as well as a multi-cultural community of more than 100 different nationalities.

On arrival, we enjoy an orientation tour of the city, to view the century old traditional wooden houses. Tromsø features the largest collection of historical wooden houses north of Trondheim, and is home to one of the most important concentrations of Empire houses in Norway. After, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure to wander the picturesque streets.

Day 18: Tromso (B)
Today, enjoy a leisurely paced tour of the city, before having free time to explore the city at your own pace. We begin with a visit to the Arctic Cathedral. Architect Jan Inge Hovig succeeded in creating a masterpiece. The cathedral is a landmark visible from the Tromsø Sound, the Tromsø Bridge and when landing in Tromsø by aircraft. We then move on to view the University of Tromso, the most northerly University in the world. Because of its location it has world importance as an international centre for Arctic research. At the conclusion of the city tour, enjoy the entire afternoon free to lap up the northern lifestyle.

Day 19: Tromso – Alta (B)
Continuing our trip north of the Arctic Circle, we make our way for Alta. Alta is the home of the Ice Hotel, however, by spring it has completely melted away. During the summer months, the location of Alta in the inner reaches of the Alta Fjord means that municipality is able to offer forests, mountain plateaux and coastal and mountain landscapes. On arrival, we enjoy a tour of the city, including the imposing Northern Lights Cathedral. If churches aren’t your thing, the opportunity to photograph this incredible building are worth the visit. After, continue to the hotel for check-in where the rest of the time is at your leisure.

Day 20: Alta – Honningsvag (B)
Today marks the most northerly part of our journey, at the most northerly city of Norway, Honningsvag. You are officially entering the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’. During the summer months, it is light 24 hours a day (from May – July)! While this may take your body clock time to get used to, it allows you to experience an almost alien sensation of all day daylight. The drive will see us arrive into Honningsvag just after lunch giving you plenty of time to wonder the small quaint fishing village. The area is a fascinating destination with spectacular nature and picturesque views. You may opt to have a rest, as just before midnight, we will enjoy a visit to the North Cape Hall, a landmark identifying Norway’s most northerly point. Here we enjoy watching the midnight sun or the sunset over the Barents Sea from the North Cape Plateau while enjoying a glass of sparkling wine and indulgent caviar.

Day 21: Honningsvag – Saariselka – Ivalo (B)
Our northerly trajectory comes to an end today as we begin our journey South and cross the border to Finland. Our drive takes us right in to the heart of the Finnish Lapland. To the popular resort town of Saariselka. In summer, the midnight sun shines for two whole months in this region. The legendary Saariselka is the northernmost travel destination in the European Union and boasts a variety of services. On the edge of the virgin wilderness and part of Finland’s major national park. It is the largest winter sport centre in Finland, and a paradise for hikers and mountain bike lovers in summer. The indigenous Sami culture is still very much in evidence in everyday life. Here is where you find the genuine Lapland. On arrival, enjoy a short tour of the town, and enjoy the scenery of the Lapland way of life. After, continue on to the nearby town Ivalo for our overnight stop.

Day 22: Ivalo – Rovaniemi (B)
After breakfast we leave Ivalo behind us and make our way to Rovaniemi. Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and is a modern city known for being the “official” home town of Santa Claus. Rovaniemi is an urban oasis amidst the Arctic wilderness, where culture, wild activities and fairytales come together. The drive will see us arrive into Rovaniemi in the early afternoon. On arrival, check-in to the hotel before enjoying the afternoon at leisure.

Day 23: Rovaniemi (B)
A whole day to enjoy the capital of Finnish Lapland. For hundreds of years, it was famous for exporting furs and salmon to the world’s rich and powerful. Unfortunately, the town was totally destroyed during World War II. The new town, which you’ll visit during on the orientation tour, was designed by Alvar Aalto in the shape of reindeer antlers. Sights include Lappia Hall, the Town Hall, the new modern church with its intriguing frescoes, and the Arctic Centre. The afternoon is then free to enjoy Rovaniemi or the surrounding area.

Day 24: Rovaniemi – Oulu – Kuopio (B)
Today after breakfast we leave Rovaniemi and make our way to the small town of Kuopio. Enroute, visit the picturesque town of Oulu. Prosperous Oulu is one of Finland’s most enjoyable cities to visit. In summer angled sunshine bathes the kauppatori (market square) in light and all seems well with the world. Locals, who appreciate daylight when they get it, crowd the terraces, and stalls groan under the weight of Arctic berries. The city centre is spread across several islands, elegantly connected by pedestrian bridges and cycleways: Oulu’s network of bike paths is one of Europe’s best. After time to explore Oulu, we continue on to Kuopio. Like most Finnish provincial cities, Kuopio comes into its own in the summer when it plays host to a  major dance festival, as well as a lively wine festival. The city’s essence, however, comes from its lakeside location on the shores of Kallavesi and its role as a harbour for lake traffic. On arrival, we visit the Puijo observation tower which offers some of the best lake views in Finland.

Day 25: Kuopio – Helsinki (B,D)
Leaving Kuopio, we begin our last road trip to the Finnish capital of Helsinki! Arriving early afternoon, enjoy a tour of this lovely city. During the tour you will see the beautiful Helsinki Cathedral at the Senate Square, the famous church built inside a rock, the Temppeliaukio church. Quarried out of the natural bedrock, Temppeliaukio Church is one of Helsinki’s most popular tourist attractions. The interior walls are created naturally by the rock. The church was designed by architects Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen and opened in 1969. Due to its excellent acoustics the church is a popular venue for concerts. We will also visit the Sibelius Monument, dedicated to world famous composer Jean Sibelius. Finally, enjoy Market Square, Helsinki’s open-air market and a fun places to shop in a relaxing atmosphere. Later tonight, we enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel, along you and your fellow travellers to exchange stories and bid farewell to your tour escort.

Day 26: Fly back to Australia (Sydney, Melbourne or Perth) from Helsinki
After breakfast, check out of your hotel for your onward journey. Make your own way to the airport to board your flight. We hope you have enjoyed your Scandinavian experience!

Day 27: Australia (B)
Arrive home today.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THIS CRUISE

Terms of booking on this website

Information disclaimer

The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or the cruise operator's error. In such a case, if you make a reservation enquiry with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website. When making a reservation via this website or over the phone, we ask you to agree to the terms and conditions displayed. Your reservation and cruise holiday will be governed by the terms of the agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you before you depart. Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Once your cruise has commenced, if the cruise line is required to change the itinerary or cancel the cruise due to safety, maritime law, severe weather or to protect human life or health, Cruise Republic will not be required to provide any compensation. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of Victoria and the jurisdiction of the Victorian courts.

Booking information

To reserve a cabin(s), you must complete our reservations enquiry form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology.

Alternative you can contact us by -

  • Email Cruise Republic on cruise@cruiserepublic.info
  • Telephone 1300 44 00 26 (Australia) or 0800 122 129 (New Zealand)

At the time of reservation you must provide us with your full name as it appears on your passport as well as your date of birth. By making a booking with us through any of the three methods you will be deemed to have agreed to our information, Terms and Conditions.

Once you have submitted your enquiry through our website, you will receive a “CR” reference number and a bounce back email to the email address provided. This reference number is confirmation we have received your enquiry and we will come back to you shortly with the details of your booking – please be aware, this is not a confirmation and is only a summary of your booking request. We will hold the cabin in your name “for up to 5 days” as controlled by the cruise line themselves. On some cruises, the payment may be required on the day of booking or within 1-5 days of making the booking as controlled by the cruise line.

Once we have held a cabin, we will contact you via phone or email, to advise of availability and confirm the price and details. A booking is confirmed when you have been received an email confirmation notice and should you wish to proceed, we will provide you with our payment options to make your deposit payment (or full payment if the cruise is within 90 days). Your payment then becomes subject to the cancellation policy of the cruise line and Cruise Republic. These are stated in the terms and conditions. When your booking has been confirmed with a deposit payment we will send you your cruise booking number with the cruise line. Once you receive your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date without incurring a penalty. If you are booking via phone, please first make sure you have read the terms and conditions. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the customer to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure

In booking on/via this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Cruise Ship company/operator.

Amendments

Once you have paid a deposit against your cruise, any changes made to the booking will incur an amendment fee of $50 plus and applicable fees set you by the cruise line. Please see the Cruise Company's terms and conditions for cancellation and amendment policy.

Transfer to a new cruise/fare

From time to time cruise lines may advertise lower promotional cruise fares; these fares are not always available to existing bookings, however Cruise Republic will endeavour to accommodate any request to change to the lower fare. Please note this request is at the discretion of the cruise lines so is not always possible. New promotional fares may affect your current booking, resulting in reduced on-board credit.

If we are able to transfer you at the lower promotional fare a fee of $100 will be applied to your booking. Once final payment has been made for your cruise we are unable to lower the fare.

If you choose to transfer your cruise deposit to an alternative cruise departure this will also incur a fee of $100.

Cancellations

Once a deposit is made towards your cruise holiday it is deemed that you have accepted our terms and conditions, so are subject to any cancellation fees. Bookings cancelled after the deposit is paid, will incur a cancellation fee of $200 per cabin plus any additional cancellation fees set out by the cruise line. There are no cool down periods. Please see the Cruise Company's terms and conditions for cancellation and amendment policy.

Due to the issuing of refunds via Cheque by the cruiselines, refunds can take 4-6 weeks to reach us should you be entitled to any refund.

Payments

Payments towards your cruise holiday made by credit cards are subject to a transaction fee of 1.5% for Visa and Mastercard payments and 0.5% for Debit Cards. We also accept PayPal with a 1% transaction fee and AMEX which incur a 3.2% credit card fee. Payments made by bank deposit do not incur any transaction fees nor do payments made using the BPAY payment system. Please be aware payments made via bank deposit or BPAY within 24 hours of your booking expiring will require a legitimate receipt/screen shot of payment emailed through.

Onboard Credits

On selected departures we will offer you onboard credits & these may not be combinable with all cabin categories and promotions. We will send you through a confirmation which will confirm if the onboard credit is available against your booking. Making changes to your reservation could result in any onboard credits being removed. Once you have embarked the ship, the onboard credit will be applied to your onboard account to use towards any onboard purchases. Any unused portion of the Onboard Credit will expire at midnight on the last night of your cruise and is not redeemable for cash at any time.

'Guarantee' (GTY) Bookings

From time to time, we may offer you the option of making what we call a 'Guarantee (GTY) booking. This means you may book a stateroom of a guaranteed category type (Inside, Outside, Balcony) on your chosen ship and cruise. However, the exact grade, number and location of the stateroom on the ship will be allocated at the cruise lines discretion and at any time until checking in at the Port. Once your GTY stateroom has been allocated to you, we are unable to accept any changes requested by you. The benefits of a GTY stateroom are that after your booking has been confirmed, the cruise line may (at their discretion) upgrade your stateroom to a higher classed category to that originally booked at no extra charge to you. In any event, you are 'guaranteed' the minimum category you decide to book at the time of the cruise including obstructed view cabins.
If travelling with Family and Friends where you require cabins to be near one another we strongly recommend for you not to book on a Guarantee.
We cannot guarantee your cabins will be assigned near one another, on the same deck, same side or forward/aft on the ship nor accept any requests.

Complimentary Upgrades

Depending on any last minute availability the cruise lines will automatically upgrade cabins to higher categories. The upgrades can place you towards the front of the ship, midships or at the back of the ship and not necessarily on a higher deck level (i.e.: Insides Deck 10 may be upgraded to Ocean view Deck 5). As the cruise lines cannot upgrade every booking, you should book a category in which you are happy to sail. Once the upgrade has been assigned, should you dislike the cabin location we are unable to accept any changes or requests and cannot be reversed.
If travelling with family and friends where you require cabins to be near one another we strongly recommend for you to decline the upgrades. The cruise line do not guarantee all of the cabins will be upgraded, or that they will be upgraded near one another.

Future Cruise Credits

While we are happy to apply your Future Cruise Credits from the cruiselines to your booking with us, this may affect your online discounted pricing. We will still do our best to provide competitive pricing based on the discount we can offer on the new cruise fare once the future cruise credits have been applied to your booking. Please note if Future Cruise Credits are applied after your deposit has been paid may affect your final balance.

Passport & Visa Requirements.

For all international cruises all passengers will require to be in possession of a valid passport. The passport must have 6 months validity from the cruise return date.
Visa's may also be required and at the sole responsibility of the passenger. Please check with the relevant embassies or a Visa Services company for assistance.
Cruise Republic will not take any responsibility for passport or visa requirements.
